“As a huge smile crossed Ned’s face while looking at a photo of himself having his first and only bike riding experience. Although Ned, age 45, had never ridden a bike before, he was able to trial bike through ARK. When asked if he liked to go fast he replied, “No, I like going slow. I like going around on the bike.” Ned may be a man of few words but his picture says 1000 words. All of the equipment acquired for ARK’s equipment loan program is available to hundreds of people with disabilities in our community. The hope is that ARK’s adaptive bikes will allow individuals access to bikes so that they do not have to wait until age 45 to experience what most of us take for granted…like riding a bike!”
